I Love My Dad

I loved the free Father's Day frames from the Silhouette Online Store this past week. It made it easy to create a couple of Father's Day cards. I made this one for my Sweetie. He is such a great dad. My son is a lucky kid.

I took this photo of the guys at Legoland during our Spring Break. I processed the photo using Instagram on my iPhone.

Happy Father's Day

Hi everyone. This is the Father's Day card I made for my sweet dad in New Mexico.

It started with a sentiment design from the Silhouette Studio store. I love welded-type words. The papers are from Love Letter Designer Series Paper by Stampin' Up. I used a white gel pen to add faux stitching to the sentiment. The heart and the sentiment are popped up on dimensional tape. I also added faux stitching around the heart with a black Copic pen.

Feliz dia del Padre

I hope your having a great day. I spent my morning in the school library with other volunteers organizing shelves of non-fiction books back into perfect Dewey Decimal order. It was a little harder than I imagined. I'm home to quickly change my clothes to black and white. The teachers, staff, and students at K's school are throwing us a Black & White Reception to thank us for volunteering at school. They are even providing childcare; awesome! Last year, the celebration was amazing too.

Here is a Father's Day card I made last week for the preview of the Dia del Padre set from Dulces Ideas Clear Stamps. The sentiment is stamped on vellum and then layered on some Papertrey Ink paper.
Thanks for stopping by!

Card Ingredients
Stamps: Dia del Padre (Dulces Ideas Clear Stamps)
Paper: New Leaf, white, & patterned paper (Papertrey Ink), vellum (The Paper Palette)
Ink: don't remember which black ink I used
Tools: Corner Chomper (We R Memory Keepers), 2 inch circle punch (EK Success), foam tape (3M)

Dulces Ideas Clear Stamps - Dia del Padre

Yay it is Friday! I'm back early today to show you a new set of stamps from Dulces Ideas Clear Stamps. It's called  Dia del Padre. This set is a perfect set of english and spanish Father's Day (and congratulations) sentiments. This set will sell for $10.99 plus shipping and will be available in a few days (June 1st).

I really like the versatility of this set. You can make cards for your father, grandfather, uncle, and brother. It was hard to only make one card with this set, so I made 3 cards! I'm only showing you 1 card today. I'll post the rest tomorrow.

For this card, I used this color combo from Two Happy Stampers. I stamped the dots on the twill tape. I used the sentments from Dia del Padre to list out the various names for dad. I call my dad Dad, but my son calls my husband Papรก. I love hearing a spanish pronounciation coming out of his mouth. What do you call your dad?

Adios!

Card Ingredients
Stamps: Dia del Padre (Dulces Ideas Clear Stamps)
Paper: Chocolate Chip, Very Vanilla, Kraft, Rose Red designer paper (all SU!)
Ink: VersaMark, Memento Rich Cocoa (Tsukineko)
Tools: scallop border punch (SU!), mini heart punch (SU!)
Other: clear embossing powder, twill tape (Martha Stewart), Linen Thread (SU!), foam tape (3M)

Happy Father's Day & Feliz Dia de los Padres

Here are a couple of cards I made a few weeks ago for our school's auction. The second card (Spanish version) is going to my father-in-law. I don't have a stamp that says "Feliz Dia de los Padres," so I masked a stamp from the SU! set Felicidades Siempre and added alphabet stamps to spell out "Padres." I'm not sure I like these as Father's Day cards, but oh, well!

I couldn't resist using some Baja Breeze felt flowers on these cards. I love Felt Fusion flowers, but I forget to use them. The main image is designer paper. These were very easy cards to put together.

Card Ingredients

Stamps: Men of Life (PTI), Felicidades Siempre (SU!), Serendipity Letters & Numbers (Hero Arts)
Paper: Basic Grey, Baja Breeze -
textured, & Urban Garden (all SU!)
Ink: Memories Black
Tools: Scallop Border punch (SU!), Crop-a-Dile
Other: Felt Fusion flower (SU!), grey ribbon (SU!-retired), foam tape, black brads (Bazzill)

Dad, Happy Father's Day

Here's a card for Dawn McVey's Raspberry Suite Color Challenge #9.

(Edited to Add: Here's the card description)

I've got to mail a Father's Day card to my sweet Dad by tomorrow to get it to him in time. I used Dawn's color combination (grass green, cream, & black) to help me out.

It was hard finding items in my stash that had the specified green color and cream or black with cream. Most of my stuff had white mixed in, so luckily the Making Memories Chloe's Closet collection had the right green and cream colors! I used strips of black cardstock to thread the buttons (I've never done that); I like the effect.

Thanks for looking and have a good one!

Card Ingredients
Stamps: Men of Life (PTI)
Paper: Black (CA Paper Goods), Very Vanilla (SU!), Chloe's Closet (Making Memories)
Ink: Memories Black
Tools: Scalloped Scallop punch (EK Success), corner rounder (Fiskars)
Other: Thickers (American Crafts), Chloe's Closet ribbon (Making Memories), Chloe's Closet buttons (Making Memories), foam tape, linen thread (SU!)

Happy Father's Day!

I was going to submit this card for Kristina's Color Inspiration Challenge #11, but my white embossing powder is approximately 10 years old, and it has yellowed and it was very obvious against the stark white cardstock. I created a different card instead for Kristina's challenge.

Card Ingredients
Stamps: Father Figure (Verve Visual), Priceless (SU), Heidi Grace Clear Stamps Greetings
Paper: gray/white designer paper (Making Memories), white textured card (from Peru)
Ink: Going Gray, Rose Red, Old Olive, So Saffron, Versamark, ColorBox Frost White
Other: Chipboard (Provo Craft), PSX White Embossing Powder, foam tape

When I Grow Up I Want to Be Like You

I combined my need to make my husband a Father's Day card with Taylored Expressions Cupcake Challenge #20. I rotated Taylor's sketch on it's side. Taylor and I (and my husband) share the June 12th birth date. Taylor, sorry, I didn't make you a birthday card like everyone else.

I usually make Enrique a photo card when it comes to Father's Day. We went to
RoboGames in San Francisco yesterday and I got several nice photos of him and Kalino on the Marina Green near Fort Mason.

I finally used my Verve Visual
stamps I won as blog candy from Julee Tilman.

Card Ingredients
Stamps: Father Figure (Verve Visual)
Paper: Chocolate Chip, designer paper (My Mind's Eye & my local scrapbooking store)
Ink: Brilliance Coffee Bean, Versamark
Other: Chocolate Chip ribbon, clear embossing powder, robot rub-on (Hambly Screen Prints), Making Memories leather tag and SU large eyelets (thanks Theresa!)

Dad, Love You

This is my entry for Katrina's Color Inspiration #7 challenge.

We had to use the following colors:
Chocolate Chip, Close to Cocoa, Soft Sky, and Very Vanilla

I designed this card for my dad, Pedro. I only see my parents about twice a year (they live in Taos, New Mexico and I live in California). I know my Dad with like this Father's Day card.

This is my first time using chipboard letters...I only have pre-colored ones. I love them! These letters are from a Making Memories scrapbooking kit. They were originally blue, and not a Soft Sky blue. I rubbed them with Close to Cocoa and the Chocolate Chip ink. I scuffed them up a bit to reveal the Close to Cocoa layer of ink. I took a plain white flower and rubbed it with Soft Sky ink. I then stamped a Victorian Lace background stamp onto it with Close to Cocoa ink. To get the "love you" phrase, I took a "love" and a "thank you" stamp and masked the two to get the phrase I wanted.

Card Ingredients (all Stampin' Up unless noted)
Stamps: Noteworthy, Victorian Lace
Paper: Chocolate Chip, Soft Sky, off-white, designer paper (My Mind's Eye)
Ink: Soft Sky, Close to Cocoa, Chocolate Chip
Other: large eyelet (Thanks, Theresa!), Chocolate Chip ribbon, flower, Coluzzle oval cutter, scallop punch, corner rounder

These are the other three cards from a stamping party I hosted on Sunday. It was another intro to card-making for my non-stamping girlfriends. I posted the Mother's Day card I had them make the other day. They loved playing with all the paper punches, stamps, and inks.
