A 3D Christmas Tree Tag

Happy Christmas Eve! I'm drinking some eggnog and eating my favorite Danish butter cookies. I wish it was snowing outside, but it's sunny and cold here in Northern New Mexico.

Here's a tag I actually made over a year ago when I was visiting Ericka last year. She had this great Martha Stewart tree paper punch. I punched out 3 trees from Basic Grey paper and scored the trees in half before adhering them to each other. I wish I more time this fall to make more tags like this. I added some ribbon and some more Basic Grey paper to a die cut tag.

I gave this tag to our dentist and her staff with a large jar of mixed nuts and cranberries I bought at Target; easy and simple!

I haven't created a card for a Papertrey Ink Blog Hop in quite a while, but I didn't want to miss this one. Our challenge was to use embroidery floss in a fun and inventive way. I used Dawn's Delightful Doilies stamps to create some flowers and I used embroidery floss by adding a lot of French knots.

Today is my friend Ericka's birthday, so I made this card for her. She won't receive it in time, but I'll send her the link.

Seattle Was a Blast!

Hola! I had the best time in Seattle last weekend. It was my first trip there. Loved it! From the moment Ericka picked me up at the airport, until I flew out on Sunday evening, we were shopping at craft stores, talking about stamping, taking stamping classes, or actually stamping. On Friday night (actually, Saturday morning) we were up until 3AM! We were in her studio working away.

We had to be up early on Saturday because we had 2 classes at A Muse Art Stamps store taught by the A-M-A-Z-I-N-G Julie Ebersole. Her Royal Ruberness did not disappoint. She is so fun! These had to be my favorite classes ever. I can't remember enjoying a class so much.

Here are the cards we made during the first class. They are all fun and they are all very "Julie". I LOVE Julie Ebersole's design style!

Well, the guys and I are going to dinner right now. I'll post the projects from the 2nd class tomorrow.

How To Videos From PSA Essentials

Hey there! Just a quick blog post since I'm running late to help set up the book fair at school. I'm pretty excited because I'm flying out tomorrow morning to Seattle...just me! While I'm going to miss my 2 favorite guys, I'm visiting one of my best friends, Ericka. Ericka has been inviting us to Seattle for years, but this is my first trip to the city. On Saturday morning, we are taking two A Muse Artstamps classes from Her Royal Rubberness (love that nickname), Julie Ebersole. It will be a thrill to meet her. I've admired her work (and sense of humor) for quite some time, so I can't wait. Besides the classes, there will be sightseeing, shopping, making cards in Ericka's studio, and meeting some of her friends.

Happy Birthday, Ericka!

I made this card for one of my best friends and crafting buddies, Ericka. She's been in Peru for over a month, so this card will be waiting for her when she comes back to the USA at the end of this month. I LOVED the colors this week for Kristina's Color Inspiration Challenge #48. The colors this week were: chocolate chip, kiwi kiss, baja breeze, and whisper white

Several of Kristina's Year in Cards class videos were used as inspiration for the making of this card (first one & second one).

I usually don't decorate the inside of a card, but I did this time.

Happy Birthday From Ericka

My birthday is next week. I love the card Ericka made for me. The colors are awesome. It's reminds me of Maui. The texture is great with the crimped paper. (I forget to use my crimper. How many of us have tools that we forget to use once in a while?) I love the flower and the brad. Gracias, Ericka!

This is Our Version of a Good Time!

One of my very best friends, Ericka, flew in for a long weekend. She loves stamping as much as I do. We only had today to stamp, so we made the best of it. We stamped all day! Kalino was at a play date for a few hours. This is our version of play date. My dining room table expands to 10 feet. I didn't add the second leaf today, but I probably should have. We had fun!

She brought some of her stamps sets that I don't have, so I could play with them. She gave me an early birthday gift...sets of stamps! Love it. She also gave me awesome designer paper and embellishments.

Before our get together, we each designed 4 cards for the other to create and then we just started working on other projects. I'll post our work in a separate blog entry.
