Miracle of Christmas

Just a quick post before the deadline passes in about 5 minutes! This card is for the Cinema Saturday Creative Challenge #8. The movie this week was Miracle on 34th Street. I've seen the original and the latest version of this movie. I loved it when I was a kid and I still love the movie.

I used some old stamps for this card. The "miracle" sentiment is from one of my first Stampin' Up sets. It's in the 1998-1999 catalog. I didn't know the name of the stamp set because I didn't put the label on the case...duh! I had to look at the old catalog...it's Miracle of Christmas. I thought I had more Santa stamps. I only have 2...what? I wanted the sentiment to have the word "miracle" and I wanted Santa on the card.

I paper pieced Santa's suit and hat...that was a little hard! I don't think I've paper pieced something so small. I messed up the embossing of the sentiment, so I had to add the layer on top of "Christmas" to cover up my boo-boo.

Thanks for looking!

WOW Anthonette! Your card is so fun and beautiful! It's perfect for this movie of believing in miracles and in Santa! That velvety ribbon is so great - reminds me of Santa's suit :) love your DP and your story on paper piecing something so small!!! That actually cracked me up - because i have done that also -- hunched over cutting something so small and then it has fallen out of my hands onto the floor amongst the scraps... and i am like...agghhh!! LOL!!!!

Thank you so much for playing in these weekly challenges!!! It is always so great to surf on over to your blog and see your beautiful creations!!!

Hope you are doing great Anthonette!
Best wishes to you and your family always,
Sankari :)

If you hadn't of convinced to messing up the embossing I would have thought you planned to highlight the word Christmas. I love it like that! Awesome card!!

Very pretty card Anthonette. You have done a great job of piecing that tiny santa hat and suit.

I agree with WendyP too....if you hadn't said anything about the snetiment, we would never have know. I think it looks great.

Best wishes,
Sam.
