Welcome Little One

Hi everyone! I don't submit my work to magazines that often, but when I saw a recent publication call for baby cards in non-traditional colors, I knew I wanted to design a card. I love the use of non-traditional colors. The card wasn't accepted for publication, so I get to show it here. I like the look of white ink stamped on black cardstock. It looks like a vintage chalkboard.

All the stamps for this card come from the very talented Paloma Gomez and Dulces Ideas Clear Stamps. I randomly placed all sorts of sentiments on my acrylic block to create a background stamp. I love this look. I created a similar card here.

Thanks for stopping by!

Card Ingredients
Stamps: Welcome, Baby Shower, Decoracion (Dulces Ideas Clear Stamps)
Paper: Basic Black (SU!), patterned paper (Prima)
Ink: Fresh Snow (Papertrey Ink), Tuxedo Black (Tsukineko)
Tools: Corner Chomper (We R Memory Keepers), Crop-a-Dile (We R Memory Keepers)
Other: ribbon (Michael's), bakers twine (Etsy), star brad (SU!), foam tape (3M), white gel pen (Sakura)

Today is the day! All 5 new stamps sets from Dulces Ideas Clear Stamps go on sale.

Today, I'd like to show you the 4x3 inch stamp sets that are loaded with sentiments in English and Spanish. The sets are called Welcome and Ya Nació!.

These sets are $5.99 each (shipping is free if you order one of the larger sets, like Baby Shower, Cuarto del Bebe, or Decoracion).

Paloma has done an outstanding job of designing so many sentiments for these sets. You have so many options.
I made a simple card to show the Spanish and English sentiments together to create a masculine background.

We're off to Southern California this morning to take the Little Guy to Legoland tomorrow, and spend the day in San Diego, and then visit my in-laws outside of LA.

Stop by Dulces Ideas Clear Stamps. Thanks for stopping by!

Cuarto del Bebe

Today I'm showing you the second set of baby-related stamps from Dulces Ideas Clear Stamps. This new set is called Cuarto del Bebe. This 4x6 inch set of stamps has all the furniture you would need for a nursery. Starting on July 1st, it will sell for $10.99, plus shipping. Paloma has outdone herself this month with this release!

My card uses the chair stamp from the set to create a feminine card for a baby girl. I used the tiny stamps from Decoracion (a set we will reveal tomorrow) to create the background. The sentiment comes from the Welcome set. Welcome is a 4x3 inch stamp set that will sell for $5.99 (shipping will be free if you also buy a 4x6 inch set).

I was drawn to the chair stamp because my father-in-law made a chair with this exact design for the nursery before Kalino was born. The only difference is our chair is a rocking chair in masculine colors. We read with Kalino every night while sitting in the chair. He treasures this time with each of us and gets very upset if we try to skip reading (even for one night). The kid loves his storytime!

The crib in this stamp set is how I first noticed Paloma last November. She created the most amazing card for Dawn McVey's color challenge. Check it out here! Paloma also sells an SVG version of this crib here so you can cut it with your Cricut digital cutter. Sweet, right?

You can see what Paloma and the rest of the design team created:
